The entire summer of 1972 was spent in fury.

I spent the summer of my 6th year travelling with my older brother and my parents on the Great Lakes. We spent most of my childhood summers on my dad’s boat - a lovely 31-foot Trojan cabin cruiser — but 1972, the summer I was 6, stood out because it was the year I learned to swim.
